    Hello,

I have an Acer Aspire 3000 series laptop that no longer will startup. When I hit the power button to turn it on a little yellow LED on the front edge of the laptop blinks. It will blink 7 or 8 times and then stop. The laptop makes no noise like it is trying to start. I have tried to start it with and without a battery. Anyone have any ideas?

    Try removing RAM and reseating.

I would take goofball's advice and reseat the RAM. If that doesn't work, then it may be a motherboard problem. Does the notebook screen display anything on startup at all? If you are under any sort of warranty, then it may be the way to go.

When I was trying to figure out what was wrong I did reseat the memory but I had only reseated just the 1 memory stick. I went ahead and took both memory sticks out and reseated them and I got the same results. The laptop is out of warranty. I get no display whatsoever. It does not sound like anything is even spinning up.

if it is dead I'd part it out on Ebay and recover you losses the best you can.

New power supply fixed the problem.
