Hello having a problem after a reload from recovery cds. Formated hard drive and did full recovery from cds. Everything went good and when complete I noticed that the keyboard and touchpad were very sluglish and then would stop working. Connected usb mouse and keyboard and they worked ok. So I went to acer's site and downloaded all drivers and installed them and after reboot the internal key and touchpad seem to work, but after letting sit for about an hour they stopped again. Ps they work fine in safe mode...Windows xp is the os. So I went into safe mode and removed the sisagp driver and rebooted everything worked ok again. But after sitting for a while same results. Also when this happens the laptop will lockup to the point that I have to hold the power down to kill the system. I have had this happed before and know its a driver issue, but have tried to reinstall all drivers, but still have the same results...Any Ideas

    Hello andyasselin,

Well you were right on the money, Removed battery and keyboard and mouse work ok. But after bootup I shut down and install battery and the problem is back. I wonder is there something wrong with hardware that causes this problem? I have put in about 30 hours with this problem and have had it happen to 2 other acers and sure would like to find the problem for the future. this unit is still under extended warranty, so might happen at a good time.

I see this all the time, some models of the battery are rubbish and the control circuits fail and cause windows to go nuts trying to work out the state of the battery.
