    Hi,

my laptops temperature is always >45 degress Celcius. I was just wondering is that normal? on heavy loads it goes up to 60 and if I play games, it goes to about 62 and the whole system freezes.

What should be the idle temperature?

    thx in advance :)

The temps seem to be alright. On mine the temperature usually stays around 43C - 48C. The fan turns on at 49C and increases to the max speed somewhere around 53 -55C. Under full stress the cpu reaches 60-62C.

This laptop really cannot play games. The cpu is not the culprit for overheating but it is the chipset/GPU combo which unfortunately only has passive cooling.(you can see this if you remove the cover for the RAM module). It gets very hot after an hour of usage and is virtually impossible to touch it.

Hmm...Does the fan run all the time, meaning from the minute you turn on the laptop or turns on after sometime and remains on.
Also what is your power settings? If it is set to 'Always On', then the fan will run continously. Also there is a setting in Acer emanager which allows the fan to run continuosly, see that it is not checked.
The fan behavior I have seen is that it turns on at 49C and remains on until the temperature drops down to 43-44C.

Also what software are you using to check the temps??

Your idle/full load temperatures seem to be in range, but your fan settings seem to be a bit off.

i'm using the amd dashboard demo. One thing funny about this is when it runs on battery, the fan stops when running at around 45 C and when it reaches 52, the fan comes on till it goes down to 50C. The fan will only come on full speed at above 55C.

so if i keep the laptop plugged on, the fan is basically on all the time.

and for the emanager settings, the "fan always enable" is not checked.
