I really need help on this one. This is a fresh install of Windows XP pro w/SP2 and windows doesn't find any audio device. Here are the facts:
    1. Acer 3651 with the ALC 883 Chipset in the audio card (confirmed by a Linux install.
    2. Audio works fine with Linux Unbuntu 7.10
    3. No device is shown in device manager that is lacking a driver.
    4. Installing the Acer driver from Acer Europe or the ALC driver from RealTec appear in installed programs but not in the audio section of device manager.

I would have said that the hardware was defective until I tried it on Linux. Although I guess it could be still defective in some way that windows requires....Any ideas would be wonderful...Tnk
