I have an Acer Aspire 3680 with the 1.6ghz Celeron Processor "520". Somebody was selling an 1.73ghz Celeron Processor for laptop on ebay, same family, same fsb, same cache. So I bought it. I checked the service manual I downloaded and it matched the stats.

My brother in law says that Im not going to notice any difference at all. Im just wondering, is it even worth to open up the laptop and install this processor if Im not going to notice any performance difference?

Has anybody else upgraded their processor in their Acer Aspire? Any tips either way?

Awww crap. Well I already bought it. It was only $20 + $6 s/h. So I guess Im not out too much. My next question is, is it worth it to open up the laptop and start mollesting around its innards, or should I just resell it on ebay?
