Hi, nt sure how best to describe my problem. I have turned my Acer 3690 on and the screen has shrunk - the actual displayed screen I mean, not the desktop. To the right of my desktop display is now 2 inches of black space, and underneath is 1cm of black space, except for underneath the windows icon which looks like the bottom of the icon has melted and fallen to the bottom of the screen.

Tried a system restore to a month ago and that worked, for one time of turning on, then next time I turned on same prolem. Nothing new installed, no updates done. Tried updating the driver for the graphics card (Mobile Intel 945 Express Chipset Family) but no joy.

    Any ideas please?

Never got ours fixed no. Decided it wasn't worth spending any more time or money on trying to resolve it as the laptop was getting a bit old and had been overworked so we just got a new one.

Have still got the dodgy one though so will be interested to know if you ever do get it sorted!
