Im thinking about buying this model and I have a few questions.

Is it noisy? ...fans - hdd and so on
How long time does it take to boot up? or start up

Do you recommend it, for scool and such

the specs are Intel Core 2 Duo SU9400(1.40GHz) 13.3" Wide XGA 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 500GB HDD Intel GMA 4500MHD

The 14" model, does that only have solo cpu's , if so im gonna buy the 13", since it has SU9400 :)

Hope u can help guys and girls!

    Sincerely, kok

When plugged in, the fan is always running (but as long as there is some loud noise like music or tv, you won't even hear it). On battery, it is much quieter (fan is still running but its way less audible). Boot up for me in Vista, 7, and Ubuntu 9.10 is around 1 minute. I use mine at school, it is a big step up from the previous 2 machines I've and does everything I could need perfectly.

The SU9400 is a great processor. I can watch HD tv in Media Center with my Hauppauge 950q tuner and also browse the web at the same time with little problems. HD video playback is excellent, and my favorite game (Simcity 4) plays great.

Also, there are versions of the 4810 with the SU9400, just not easily available in N. America.

Thanks alot for the quick response! really helps : )

I wonder why that is that it is constantly on, i was looking at the SSD version before but i came to the conclusion that it wasnt alot of space so the 500gb should be perfect :)

will the fan issue be fixed? with an update or something , aint fun when u have the noisy-est fan around in school, perhaps its not gonna be plugged in the wall most of the times cause of the battery time, but still :Þ
