Hello,
I just purchased the 3810TZ and the fan is constantly on, even when temperature of the CPU is only 26 degrees C and I am doing nothing. This didn't occur when I first purchased the laptop a few days ago, I am wondering if something is causing it now. My Processor usage is low, I tried changing the processor fan control in power options to Passive, and there is nothing else I can think of! This happens with it plugged in or on battery.
Any ideas??

What is your BIOS?
The newer BIOSes have the fan pretty active, even under battery. Older BIOSes have the fan nearly always on when plugged in, but mostly off when under battery. -
There is also a modded bios around here somewhere, originally made for the 3810TG, but also works well on the 3810T. It allows you to set the temperature trip points for the fan. Warning though, some of the advanced settings (UEFI bios, and I think SMRR support) can brick your machine, requiring a USB key emergency bios flash.
