I just bought an Acer 3820TG. Wondering whether it's possible to create the factory default disk without buying an external DVD writer. Can anyone share any information on this?

Don't know about the USB route, but you could always clone your drive using Acronis or Norton Ghost

well with the cloning, you can clone it when you first power on and before installing anything other than factory stuff on it. giving the original state of the drive. I doubt the usb option is doable. Not sure if the other suggestion about the virtue disk would work as I don't have any experience in doing that.
