I just downgraded my Acer Aspire 4315 successfully from Vista to XP. On the left side of the keyboard are buttons that are status lights. One of them signifies internet connection (which is also an on/off switch). I noticed when I installed the Vista wireless network adapter, it did light up. But when I installed the correct wireless network adapter for XP, it did not. The network adapter is Atheros AR5BXB63. I can live without it lighting up, but it would be nice if it did. Any ideas?
