Well I've got a serious problem of where my Acer randomly gets the "White Screen of Death". What happens is that it completely whites out but the system works perfectly. To temporarily get by of this continuance I have to close the lid and wait a minute or two for it to standby, then open it back up and the screen is perfectly fine.
I find it correlating with when the laptop heats up and it shows up more often. I have to open the top panel near the keyboard to fiddle with the port for the screen. Recently, I have left the panel off and it works perfectly fine without the WSOD.
Anyways, wondering if anybody else is getting this issue? I think it's primarily hardware and should probably buy a cooling pad to counter it further rather than buying a whole new screen. Ideas?

Have you tried to open it and clean it with an Air compressed can? It might give a good relief to your laptop.
Have you tried to connect the laptop to an external monitor and see if you get an similar problem? (Just to see it is not LCD related)
Can you also list the specs of your system? -
Hi!
Have you updated your screen driver?
