It supposed to have a GL960 according to the user's manual. But it Shows GM965 in CPU-Z.

Does this mean I can go 4GB and Core 2 Duo for sure? Does Vista Basic support 4gb's of memory? Thx for a new laptop noob.

    Attached are the screenshots.

    Boma, I upgraded my friends 4315 to a T5450 C2D processor a few weeks ago...she has the GL960 chipset.

So "IF" you have the GL960, you still can upgrade to a core 2 duo. T5450 works! ;)

    NO!!!
Vista basic, and home premium will only recognize the fist 3.5GB of your physical RAM, the rest, just gets wasted. You will need the 64-bit version to do this effectively.

    Hello Boma,

I have a T7100 in my right now running XP. I know the bios support 4 gig RAM but required 64 bit OS.
Make sure you get a socket P processor.
