I have the above laptop. Received on a Monday and wouldn't boot by Friday. Was working fine until Friday when I went to boot it. It took 9-10 minutes to get to the desktop. Figured it might be a software conflict so I restored the computer two times with the factory disks and from the "hidden" partition. Same result. The BIOS screen comes up, then a black screen for about a minute, then a white bar that scrolls across the bottom of the screen, then the XP Pro window with about 30 passes of the blue bar, then blue screen. I tired reseating hard drive and ram, no difference. Any ideas ? I have built several desktops and am fairly familiar with PC's in general.
Any ideas or do I contact Newegg ?
Thanks

If its new you better give it back and get replacement...Else you will face a lot of trouble later...most probaly its faulty mainboard...and the only way is to replace it Acer support is better in replacing unit than answering your querries

George,
Thanks for the reply. I'm going to see if Newegg will take it back for exchange. I've only had it 4 1/2 days. We'll see how the customer service is.. Either way it's going back
Thanks Again -
FORGET NEWEGG
I called Newegg today and was told I would have to deal with Acer for a repair. I have owned the notebook for all of 4 1/2 days. They would not replace the unit. I for one will no longer do business with this outfit. Customer support "0" for Newegg
Acer 4502lmi lasted 4.5 days
