Hello. I just bought an Acer aspire 4530-5627 and the onboard Nvidia Geforce 9100M G graphics card is getting quite hot. Sometimes the GPU temp gets to the mid 70s (Celsius) averaging around 67 or 68*C! According to CPUID HWMonitor the ACPI temp gets to 55*C and the Processor to 50*C. The hard drive runs on the cool side at 39*C. I bought the laptop on newegg and they do not accept returns for refunds. What should I do?

    Thanks

Try cleaning out the vents using compressed air.

Also, you may want to look into undervolting your cpu (check the guide on this website) which could definitely reduce your temps.
One other thing though ... there's a possibility the Acer in question has issues with cooling or that the temps you are seeing are rather standard.

The temps are not too serious. Don't know your particular lappie though.

    Suggestions:

    1. Always use your lappie on a flat surface (devoid of any table mats etc.) You need as much airflow to pass around the bottom of the lappie as possible.
That is what cools an Acer. Air is drawn from the bottom of the lappie and is pushed upwards through the keyboard etc.

    2. Buy (or build) a cooling pad. Prolongs any
lappies life a lot. But it must compliment the lappies airflow design. In Acers case, cold air is always drawn from the bottom of the lappie and pushed up and out through the lappie.

That is why some cooling pads work brilliantly on some lappies......and some make things hotter on others.

    Hope you got it :)

    Cheers,
    Theo
