I have installed XP-P on this Acer and am having problems with the web cam. I have determined that if I do not install the Suyin driver and app, everything is fine. If installed, it hangs on the reboot. I chose Suyin, as this is the driver it used under Vista. So fine, no Suyin driver or app.

I have read elsewhere that using the Microsoft web cam drivers will work. I have my XP-Pro CD in hand, but I cannot find the drivers on it when I try to install hardware as Imaging Devices.

Would some kind soul point me in the right direction here? Or else even suggest some other drivers that work?

    Thanks,
    Dobermann

    Update ---

I installed SP2, and upon reboot, it Found New Hardware and then found its own driver for it. The Suyin app for Acer Crystal Webcam was still installed, so it worked straightaway upon testing.

It also passes the boot and reboot test. So if anyone else should run across this problem, perhaps they can benefit from this discovery of where or how to find the drivers.

Oh, and SP2 also fixed my other issue of driver conflict under Other, PCI Device, for bus 15, device 6, function 3.

    Cheers,
    Dobermann
