    Hi everyone,

I'm having problems with my DVD drive on this laptop. Since 3 days ago, any cd/dvd I insert in the drive is not being 'read' properly. When I open windows explorer, it says that there is a driver with removable storage. But when I try to open it, the disk is immediately ejected, and I get a notice saying 'please insert a disk. At first I thought it was because I was using a copied dvd, but now it does the same thing with a normal dvd.

What should i do?

Have you installed any virtual cd/dvd drivers or any other software that could be blocking you dvd-rw

Have you tried doing a system restore to the day before you started having problems.

No I didn't to anything before I started having problems. I don't know what a system restore is...I'm a bit of a computer dummy :/

I dont know if you have Vista or Win7 as it can be a little different.

If you need to do a system restore just type "system restore" into the search box, bottom left of the screen when you click the windows icon.

it might say "restore system files and setting from a restore point" , if so click on it and select a restore point before your started having problems.

have a look at the link below for a guide.
