Hi I am having a problem listening to programmes/music through my laptop.

It used to be an intermittent problem but it is happening all the time now.

When i try to listen to music or play back a programme on real player or through the internet the sound is very distorted and very stop/start - often making the cursor very slow and unresponsive.

I am not very techie but have looked at other threads on forum sites and have so far -
    -clicked off/on limited output
    - turned off dolby suround sound
    - turned of the microphone
    - turned off realtek
    - even resorted to uninstalling realtek but this didn't work and now can't seem to get it reinstalled!
I'm not sure what else to try - everything seems to make a difference for 10 mnins then the problem continues...

i would be greatful for any advise as it is really doing my head in

    Thanks
