I just got my 4820TG in the mail today and love it!
However I would like to switch the hard drive out with and older 7200RPM hd that i have. How do i properly make backup cds that will be bootable on this new hard drive?
    thanks!

How old is that 7200 hdd?

5400rpm drives of today are actually as fast (or faster) as 7200rpm drives in the past. I think it has to do with the number of platters, etc. I'm not 100% positive on the benchmarks tho. The folks in the 'hardware and aftermarket' section should be able to help u out.

Its roughly a year old. Its a hard drive out of my msi 1651-ID2 (the 160m gts one) No serious tests done.. but using windows experience index i noticed they scored the same score, so you are probably right.
However one side note that I and maybe someone else will find interesting is that the RAM from my MSI scored a 6.1 in the msi notebook, but only a 5.9 in the acer after rerunning the windows experience index. Any Idea why the same RAM would score lower in a different laptops? Is the bottleneck the Mobo here?

Regarding the HDD score, Windows 7 actually limits the WEI of all mechanical drives to 5.9. The only way you'll see a higher score is if you get an SSD.

To get definitive benchmarks, download Crystal Disk Mark.

The RAM... no clue. The guys in the hardware section should have an answer for you tho.
