i have the mobilemeter on my notebook,(turion 1.8)and i see the following temps:
    cpu temp in idle:47-53C
cpu in full load, like games:75-81c.in prime95 i see temp till 83c and then the cpu falls back to 800mhz from 1800
    gpu temp: 45-75c

Those are pretty high temperatures..I suggest calling in Acer and reporting the problem. If the cpu is throttling, then most definately either there is a defect(not likely) or the thermal paste has not been applied properly, either way a warranty repair or replacement is in order.
