I have 2 Acer Aspire 5050 and both are having the same problems. They are not charging. The battery is good and the charger adapter is good. It started that by having to adjust the charger adapter cord and it would charge and then you would have to hold the cord in. Now it is not charging at all and my battery is dead. What do I need to fix this problem. It seems like it is not getting a good connection.

You power plug on mainboard are 3 pin i am guess you have broken pin or bad solder joint if you say moveing cord change that you need ether take laptop apart resolder the plug or replace the mainboard i the 5050 in warrenty get it done that way
have u try swap power adapter between them are they orignal adapters? -
The problem is the pin for the power adapter in the notebook is broken on the inside.
I just fixed one the other day.
