Hiya I'm new and will probably be flooding this forum with news about all the different laptops I have in the future.

I've just had to recover my acer 5050 bios using a method I found on the internet because it would not switch on. It worked for a while and then my keyboard and mouse stopped working! After a bit of research I found out that by removing the battery, the keyboard and mouse started working again!

Now, I dont really move my acer 5050 about much, so I dont really need a battery for it...but is there any harm in this? Can it mess up the laptop by just leaving the charger in and using it like that?

    Many thanks for any response.
