Hello everyone, I bought a second hand Acer 5100 off eBay and upon receiving it today I cannot get it to boot up past an error message stating: "Resource Conflict PCI in slot 03".

    Operating system is XP Professional.

I went into the set up menu and tried factory settings but it's made no difference. If I try and continue after the error message has been posted I just get a black screen with a blinking cursor in the top left.

Any advice would be welcomed as I've not been able to contact the seller as of yet.

Try to remove miniPCI card, maybe it will help.

To do it unscrew bottom part of laptop.

Its a mainboard fault, its the first sign that the mainboard chipset is dying and will eventually completely fail
