Hi, can anyone help me with my acer problem please? When I try to run eRecovery hitting Alt+F10 during post it says bootmgr is missing. I have tried using ptedit32 to get PQSERVICE not hidden but it just does not work. Does anyone know what exectly there should read in boot.ini file?

Also my eRecovery software in winXP (when I start it) says that eRecovery service is not available.

Too bad you didn't burn the Restore disks in time. I'd suggest you download Hiren's Boot CD (in ISO format), boot from it, and set the PQSERVICE partition to not be hidden.

You can also invoke the restore by, executing the file named ACERMBR, from this partition as well (once you get it unhidden).

Well I have restore DVD and I have used that (I changed the HDD) but still it does not boot from PQSERVICE partition for some reason. If anyone could say what there should be in boot.ini file so that I can put that in PQSERVICE partition using Parted Magic boot CD...

Also the contents of Autoexec.bat of the PQSERVICE partition would be nice if someone can post it here. Somehow I have lost lost, even recovery CD does not have those...
