I've decided to take my 5100 back to XP. I found drivers on http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5100.html, and almost all of them work except for the Bison/Orbicam. The "Acer OrbiCam" interface software doesn't want to install (or work), and so the only functionality from the webcam is the windows default "cameras and scanners" interface. Which is so terrible it renders the normally adequate built-in cam close to unusable. I realize there are several manufacturers for the built in camera - logitech, suyin, and bison - but I know my model is the bison, so in theory it should work. Does anyone know of a solution to this issue?

I'd really appreciate any help on this, and thanks for taking the time to respond.

    its working !!!

I uninstalled the software and hardware ( usb2.0 cam ) and installed another bison driver ! then reinstalled cam hardware , which then found the driver fom the previous bison driver intall !

I had tried various combinations of installing, different drivers ( bison x3 , logitech, usb 2.0 ) and combinations ..but the above seemed to do the trick .

one that worked for me was the bison ccd_5_0_0_10f driver ,

now works on msn and photo/cam wizard etc
