We just bought a Aspire 5100 a few months ago and have not been able to connect to the wireless network at the house. when you try to connect it says connection unsuccessful and when I go into the network and sharing center on the computer it says limited connectivity. but the other wirless computers and devices are working fine the wireless router is a Linksys

security on router?
vista or xp ?
wireless card in laptop ? i asume it broadcom -
linksys WRT54GS V. 5
WEP Key security on network
Desktop router connected to is running XP
Notebook running vista
Other wireless desktop running xp
it looks like its getting stuck when it tries to find the IP address -
do you have lasted firmware for you wrt54g?
try remove you wireless key see if it encrytion error do have anything like mac flitering turn on ?
maybe try switch to wpa-psk it alot more secure
you wireless card will need to both support it mind ya your need xp patch for wpa2

im nt really sure how to work these forums so i dnt no where im posting this...but i need help as i hav the same sort of problem...wireless connection problems...
i have an acer aspire 3000 that wont connect to the internet...im tryin to conect through a wireless router (NETGEAR), it says itz connected with excellent signal strength...but wen i go onto internet explorer is says "page cannot be displayed etc etc.
nd the working offline chech box is not ticked and all that jaz so i dnt no...
bt wot i dnt undastand is i hav other acers that hav connected to it and go on the net fine....
it wud be REALLY appreciated if u cud help me !
