I recently bought my room mate an acer 5100 which came preloaded with vista basic ... now as it only has 512mb of ram it ran a little (who am i kinding) it ran slower than molasses in an alaskan blizzard... so i tried to upgrade him to xp ultimate which i loaded on my dell 600m with very little issues (needed to flash card the nic drivers)...
Well i tried using the same xp install on his machine (reformatting everything) and foresight not being 20/20 i neglected to ghost the system before i started.....
Now the machine starts and shows the xp loading screen then i get the blue screen of death and get this error msg everytime
stop: 0x0000007B (0xF7A1D528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
i typed it into the all knowing google and nothing nada... which brings me here... if any one could help it would be greatly appreciated thanx

I'd say lousy sata driver..Research the articles, maybe you'll find the right one for you, and hopefully a solution. -
if your issue is due to SATA drivers then the info on this link should help.

just follow the instructions for creating a SLIPSTREAMED XP INSTALL DISK
use the CD + Internet method.... that will create an XP INSTALL CD you can use on any laptop or PC that has SATA drives...
hope it solves your probs
