    I just purchased a new acer 5102, the specs say that the video card is a radeon x1100. However in the hardware profile section and catalyst control center it list the vid card as the radeon express 200m series. Is something wrong with my computer or is this just a different name for the same card.

    It is a marketing trick of ATI

    Radeon Xpress 1100 != Radeon X1100
    Xpress 1100 is a enhanced version of 200M

    ATI sux....both of their name trick and their website!
    Hardly to find a correct driver on it.

    Nothing is wrong with your Computer at all.
    As ithildir said, just go to the Acer site and download the latest driver.

    In fact, many of us had the same problem.
    They even have it marked as one of their frequently asked questions;

    http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/fo...m/us&siteid=7293&words=all&keywords=&areaid=7

    Enter your model number and find driver here: (Enter the 5100 for your 5102)
    http://www.acerpanam.com/synapse/fo...ormid=3394&LINKTEXT=Drivers%20& Downloads

    You may even find it's the same version number, but it worked for me anyway and reported corectly as an 1100 after that.

    Good luck!
