    Hi All,

I messed up my computer and need to restore it to the factory settings, but I did not burn the recovery CD. I deleted the windows directory and installed XP Pro, but I want some of the factory settings like the volume indicator and the wireless lan indicator. What I mean by the indicator is that when I press FN and the volume up button I want to see the green bars going up or down. If someone can help me get those back, it is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

    Hi Andy,

I downloaded the drivers from acer and I don't see the onscreen displays of the volume or wireless lan.

Tried Alt F10 and it does not work. I have enabled it in the bios and I did not delete my recovery partition.

Please help me restore factory settings. Please include detailed steps. Thanks so much!

The simple answer is you don't. You need to either send the laptop back to acer or acquire an oem copy of windows (the cd) that fits your license and reinstall using that.

I think it is just a case of installing Launch Manager - http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3680_5600.html under Launch Manager 1.02.1e.

When I disabled it on my 5102 the on-screen displays stopped appearing, when I reloaded it the on-screen display reappeared.
