Hey this is the most weirdest thing, I had vista on my laptop when i got it then i got XP put on it but the hidden recovery HD was left untouch but a few weeks ago i tried recovery to try go back to Vista, well i put the discs in and it did the whole recovery, it installed and said it was complete... But when i turn the computer all i got was the ACER logo followed by a blank screen with a flashing cursor!

Now i don't know whats happened there, i even tried the HD recovery it did same as cd, installed it all and said it was ready to restart so did and it did the same.

Now i spoke to acer they said cause i put XP on my laptop it has buggered it up and all... I don't know what to believe!!!

Don't believe Acers support technicians. If you install a different system, they will say the only way of getting back the original is to give it to the service. Of course you'll have to pay for it.
I think the MBR is messed up. Try to recover the original MBR file with Knoppix. The file is called RTMBR.bin. When booting up Knoppix LiveCD run the console and type :
I think it should work then :)
