I just upgraded to Roadrunner lighting 40mb internet and I got a N adaptor. I would however like to replace my a/b/g card with one that also does N.
I have Oxfordtec.com bookedmarked but no longer the wireless card I was told to buy years back. Does anyone know which one to buy?

I would recommend Intel 5300, Intel 6200 or Intel 6300 (in that order)
Keep in mind that it's very easy to buy a non-genuine Intel 6xxx card these days. Intel 5300 is capable of 450mbps (like i6300 but unlike i6200) it's been around for some time and it's considered to be the best card around- even smallnetbuilder use it as a default testing platform.
Additionally Intel has a good driver support. -
Thanks one more thing how to I know if I have a mini or half mini card?

Just open the hatch and check if it's half height or full height. Half height will fit into full sized slot- it's just that you won't be able to use the screw to secure it and you have to be sure that there's enough slack in antenna cables to connect them to a shorter card.

This is my card Atheros AR5007EG AR5BXB63 Mini PCIe WLAN Card 802.11b/g I need to figure out how to install a 3rd antenna for N
-
You don't need a third antenna for up to (and including) 300mbps. Third antenna is for 450mbps- which is not supported by your router (there are only two routers that do support 450mbps)

So which antenna do I leave empty? Right now I got a black and white plugged in so do I 1,1,0 or 1,0,1? 1=ant 0= nothing. I have the Intel 5300 card saved the one that looks like mine long way not the wide one. It looks pretty easy 2 pop off ant unscrew the card. Install new pop ant back on.

The middle one should not be connected if you have only two antennas although it's not like it wouldn't work if connected otherwise.

Yes Michael- it seems that it's easier to by a fake one than a genuine one these days.

I plan to buy it next month and will see about connecting it 1,0,1 not sure if antenna is long enough but I will see. Thanks for all the help will let you know how it goes.
