I am totally confused. I just bought an Acer 5366 laptop, the crystal eye webcam works but the settings are greyed out and you cant adjust the lighting or anything, it won't let you do anything.
Control panel says the webcam is using a microsoft driver from 2007, which is odd, it should be using one of the three newer drivers listed on the acer site when you specify and search for drivers for my model and Operating system, it gives you three different webcam drivers from three different comapnies and doesn't say which is the correct one. I've tried them all and none of them let you adjust the settings on the cam. In addition after each installs control panel still says its using the microsoft driver. Someone please fill me in on whats going on. TY

Acer doesn't provide drivers- just the utilities so we all use MS driver.
I have two tabs for settings- one with things like brightness, contrast etc labeled Video Proc Amp and the other one with settings like zoom, aperture etc that can't be changed.
Revert back to the Crystal Eye utility that came with your system- there's only on app on your driver backup DVD (that is if you burned that DVD).
You'll know who the manufacturer is from Control Panel- when you do that you may try to update to an app meant for a different Acer notebook as long as the video camera producer is the same as yours- I do that all the time and it works.
