    Hello everyone..
I have Acer Aspire 5520g with a AMD Athlon 64 x2 TK-53 (1.7Ghz) and I want to upgrade CPU to AMD Turion 64 x2 (2.0 Ghz). I put the cpu in socket and when I power on the laptop, everything works fine, but the Acer logo on POST didnt show..Only black screen.. When I put the old cpu back, everything is normal (I see the logo and windows starts etc...) I have 1.06 version of BIOS..
My question is: Can that cpu work in my laptop and did I must upgrade the BIOS?

    Thank you for your help!!

First of all cann You tell which precisely AMD Turion 64 x2 have You on mind?, and since last bios release for 5520g is 1.33 I think that that's almost certain that there were made some modyfication to bios itself from 1.06 version and likely there were added support for new cpu's. If You dont try it ,You will dont know it for sure.
