I just recently purchased an Acer Aspire 5536-5883 with Vista. The problem is that it srtarts up kinda slowly. Could this be due to the endless amount of unneeded programs? If so, what can I safely remove?

Also, HOW do I remove items from just the start up? I seem to have forgotten. :(

    Thank you.

What counts as a "slow" start up?

    1) Control Panel >> Program & Features >>
    2) Run "msconfig" >> Startup

It uses an AMD CPU so you might want to try undervolting using K10stat if it is too hot.

Well, there's something called "trial and error" which I find really works when it comes to diagnosing and fixing computer issues.
Especially since you've got System Restore backing you up, and those recovery DVDs you burned (I hope). There's also an option within Acer eRecovery to burn a Drivers & Applications disc that will contain all the programs your computer came with - you could use that to reinstall something you shouldn't have removed.
