under device settings mines doesn't say touch pad it lists a Wheel mouse and when i click settings theres no option for scrolling

edit: Since it came with ALPS touch pad drivers i went to Acer site and got those and i have the scrolling settings ticked but when i try to scroll the mouse pointer just goes crazy around the screen and it would highlight and/or open things.

I would get a trial copy of Everest Ultimate and run that, you'll be able to see who manufactures your touchpad. Once you have the right drivers for your model and touchpad, email Acer tech support and ask them to email you any touchpad hotfixes that may have come with you laptop originally if you still have trouble. Many laptops have a fix in the restore discs and partitions, but most might not be available on the Drivers page.

Be aware that not all versions of touchpad drivers (especially Synaptics IME) work right with certain models of touchpad. Try the manufacturers site for newer (or older) versions and experiment. Also play around with sensitivity and scroll zones as different models of touchpad vary greatly on these factors, in fact, many 'hotfixes' that come with the laptops are just that, settings that seem to work the best with that model and chassis.

    Hope this helps! :)
