This is a question to deal with just the Acer empowering framework. I know that I can uninstall a lot of it, but at the moment, I don't want to. I'm not hurting for HDD space, just looking to free up some memory on start-up.

Do I need to run the ePower Management to make sure that my CPU and memory and all that jazz is getting the maximum power it can? If not, can I disable it at start-up?

Here is a list of what else I have:
    - eData Security (wtf is that?)
    - Boot.exe (runs from the same folder as the ePower Management, what is it?)
    - eRecovery Agent

As I said, I searched already and didn't find the exact answers to what I was looking for. I don't want to go and start disabling Acer software and end up screwing the laptop over. So, can anyone out there give me a hand???

Disabling the Acer software should not have any negative affect on the system. Windows Mobility Center will allow you to choose different power modes, so you can safely disable ePower management and still be able to control system performance.
Btw... I believe eData Security allows you to encrypt and decrypt sensitive files.
    Hope this helps.

    It helps a bunch, thanks.

Any idea about eRecovery and that Boot.exe, though???
