    So I have been trying to resolve a problem with installing a Intel 5100 Pro AGN in my wife’s Acer 5610 for over a week now.

    I bought a Intel 5100 new from Provantage.com to install in my wife’s computer to allow her access to my N router. I selected this particular card due to the fact that it only has two antennas and I wouldn’t need to route a third. I took the following steps to install;

    1. Went to Intel and downloaded the latest driver and Utility (PROSet).
    2. Uninstalled the original Intel 3945 ABG card via Device manager.
    3. Turned off computer and removed the original card.
    4. Installed new card and powered on computer.
    5. Installed New Intel driver, but not the utility.

    This is where the project died. On the front of my computer there is a switch to control the Wifi. I immediately noticed that the light was off, so I flicked the switch and “No hardware found” popped up on the screen. The card is recognized in the device manager and states that it enabled and working properly. I then installed the Intel Utility program and performed a diagnostic and it stated that the radio was turned off. I tried to turn the radio via the Intel utility, Acer E Mgmt, device manager, and the network manager, no joy. I tried reinstalling the Intel driver again, the original card driver and various other network adapter drivers, still no joy :mad: . I reinstalled the original card and it worked no problem even with the new Intel driver. It seems that the 3495 and the 5100 have the same driver. Any ideas????? :confused:
