    Hello, all,
I have an Acer Aspire 5610, with SD card slot. I have recently purchased an 8GB SDHC, then found it would not read in my laptop. I searched online & found an upgrade to the software, etc., might be necessary. Tried a windows update first upon recommendation, just to find that xpSP3 supposedly already has this upgrade installed. After researching for the last 2 hours on this forum and online, I still am not sure what to do to upgrade so I can use my SDHC.

    Any suggestions??

The most recent drivers for the card reader might help- just don't count on Windows Update. Find out what model of card reader do you have (using AIDA/Everest or HWInfo32) and try to find drivers for it.
I've been there and the update did the trick.
