    Hi,

I have had my Acer Aspire 5630 laptop for about two years now, and never had any problems with it. It, however, seems to have started to fall apart recently. It probably has something to do with the fact that I started carrying it around far more often than I used to.

Anyway, there are two big problems:

1.) Laptop boots normally, then after some time (varies) the screen goes black and it restarts (or I have to restart it manually). Once I do, the time has been reset back to 1st of July 2005.

2.) A more recent problem - the screen, again, goes black, then there's a long beep followed by two short beeps. The laptop restarts (or I have to restart it manually). System time stays the same.

The first problem seems to be a BIOS problem, while the beeps in the second problem seem to indicate a videocard problem.

The laptop restarts far too often to be usable. Is there anything I can do about it or should I just bin it and get a new one?

Unfortunately, it seems like I will have to take your advice.

    Thanks!
