I have previously connected computers to a TV using s-video for the video signal and line out/RCA plugs for the audio. (In addition to scart sockets for set top boxes and DVD players, a computer is usually connected to an analogue TV with a 4-pin s-video socket for video only with RCA sockets for stereo audio and usually composite video as an alternative to s-video.)
I have recently obtained an LX.AG50J.169 model Aspire 5633wlmi which has an nVidia Geforce Go 7300 graphics card. The output socket is described as:
s-Video/TV-out (NTSC/PAL)
The s-video cables I have are 4-pin whereas the socket is 7-pin. It is possible that the 4-pin will go into a 7-pin socket, but it doesn't slip in and because the pins are so very fragile, I do not want to use force. The internet is not very informative about 7-pin s-video sockets.
Does anyone know what the other 3 pins are used for on the 5633?
Is there a specific 7-pin plug and cable to connect this socket to a standard TV?

OK, all sorted. I should have persevered with searching the internet.
For details of 7-pin usage see: http://www.technick.net/public/code/cp_dpage.php?aiocp_dp=pinconhav_s_video_7pin
The 4-pin video plug does fit a 7-pin socket. One pin on the plug was slightly bent, preventing easy insertion. With a magnifying glass and careful straightening it went in.
Apologies for troubling you.
