For the enthusiasts out there, the new v3239 bios is out.

    New changes:
Boot screen: Changes to the new 'Intel Logo' instead of the 'Centrino' Logo.
Infra-Red: Automatic detection of CIR and FIR. More control in Bios Screen.
Audio: Modify audio support for Vista.
    Better compatibility with Windows Vista.

You will need a Windows VISTA capable WinPhlash (same with flashing to v3236) which can be downloaded here:
    ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire_5670/vista/BIOS/BIOS.zip

Unzip the folder and use either v3236 or v3239 bios files. (Using old 'installable' winphlashes will result in a BSoD, though luckily it crashes before any bios modification is done. So windows will still be bootable if you use it by mistake)

WARNING / DISCLAIMER: FLASHING BIOS IS RISKY, PLEASE DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK. PLEASE BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL BIOS AND ONLY FLASH ON FULL BATTERY AND WHILE PLUGGED INTO THE MAINS. YOU MAY RENDER YOUR COMPUTER UNUSABLE DUE TO A MISFLASH!

    Changelog (for the real enthusiasts)

ok aparently it updates the audio and allows better compatibility with Vista according to the change log.
and some reason they decided to modify the Intel logo...
