Hi guys.
Im new at the forum, after 15 minutes of browsing through acer forum threads, I didn't find any help on my problem.
My problem is that I cant get the S-Video output to work on my Acer Aspire 5672. I bought it here in Denmark,Here we use PAL 576i. Allthough we all have TV's which support both PAL & NTSC, so no problem there...
I connect my s-video cable and my TV detects the signal but the screen is all black, iIve tried 3 different cables, adapters from s-video to composite and a 7-4pin s-video adapter too, its all the same.
What am I doing wrong?
Did any of you guys ever use your 5672 S-Video out?
My 5672 is specced 1,66GHz CoreDuo 1GB RAM, ATI X1400 DVI, VGA, S-video
Cool regards, Martin, Copenhagen, Denmark....

You might want to check in the catalyst settings for video output selection
there are a fair few options in there.
good luck sorting it out

Hi m8.
The advice of my danish friend didnt help alotMaybe I should have explained myself before posting the thread.
I did activate it and all in catalyst control center, but still it doesnt seem to work. I really cant tell much else than I got an X800XL PCI-Express card in my desktop PC and it works on my TV here. Even the catalyst control center is the exact same.
Again, anyone who has a 5672 and ever tried the s-video output?

ok I shall give my s-video output a go to see what happens
however I am using the omega drivers so my setup is non standard
obviously you know what you are doing so, I wont start on about the "make sure you have your tv connected and switched on when you boot the machine" as that was mostly an Nvidia problem when using tv out

Well, I also won't try to explain the Catalyst settings but I can confirm that I have been using the S-Video output this weekend and it worked perfectly.
S-Video to S-Video on a NTSC CRT TV. Picture quality was very good as well!
Used vlc to watch a video, which was shown in a small box on my Acer, but shown at full screen, as it should be, on my TV.
(Note: I was using the Omega drivers before, and did have some quality issues with the video out...hmmm. Reverted to Catalyst 6.2, and frankly I think they are better for ease of use, and video output quality.) -
You might try this. Open Catalyst. Under view select advanced view. Then select Display Options. There you will see an option to Force TV detection. Hope this helps you out.

Where can I get the omega drivers for this NB? ATI X1400 graphics. I wanna try using them now before I turn it in for a replacement. Its like the NB see the TV so all TV options are there, allthough, nothing but black video output
