Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help with this problem I seem to be having, which happens to have completely eliminated all of my laptop's use to me when it comes to gaming, listening to music, or watching movies.

    First, my specs:

    Acer 5680
Intel Core Duo 2 (2.0 GHz processor, 4 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB)
    2.0 G's of RAM
256 MB NVidia GeForce Go 7600 Vid Card
    120 gig HDD
    HD DVD Drive
    Dial-up connection (unfortunately)
    Realtek HD Audio
    Bluetooth Audio
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005/SP2

I recently connected to the internet, entered a website, and the computer froze. After some waiting I restarted, and when I did I started getting an error stating that "AzMixerSel.exe has encountered an error and needs to close" every time I logged on. No sound will play, and I can no longer connect with my dial-up connection, as it says that the modem is busy or unavailable, and asks me to make sure one's installed etc. when I had minutes before been online.

I've looked for solutions via google search related to the error and found a few similar solutions (which included reinstalling the drivers for Realtek), but nothing is working.

Does anyone have any idea of what I should do? I'd very much appreciate any help you could give.

The only idea that i have is to download and install the latest Realtek drivers and try that. You weren't clear if you had already tried that solution or only read about it. Failing that i would reinstall windows then immediately intall the latest realtek driver. If you only have a dial up connection, go to an office or a friends with a high speed conection and use your network connection to download. Or you can find some free public WiFi and try that.

I'm not a big fan of the Realtek software. On my 8204, if i open the realtek sound manager the window opens bit i can't push any of the buttons, change tabs, use any controls or even close the darned thing. I have the latest drivers too. This has always happened on my machine, don't know why.
