I have an Acer 5735 laptop that I have used to access the internet wirelessly in the past on other networks without issue. I recently bought a TRENDnet TEW-637AP and plugged it into the back of my wireless router. I am getting a good signal and I am connecting to the network according to Vista but I cannot get it to load a web page to save my life. This hasn't been an issue in the past on other networks. Does anyone have any ideas as I'm a bit stuck. Many thanks.

you run router to router?
bad idea doblue nat or you get ipconfig
what you setup for internet?
why two routers? -
I'm using the Trendnet as a wireless access point off the back of my vonage router. It has four ports there for connecting external devices and according to the instructions I've connected everything correctly. So I have my cable router, the vonage device plugs into it, one cable off the vonage device to my main box, another cable going to the Trendnet AP. I have WPA2-PSK enabled on the Trendnet. I am connecting to the network with a good strong signal just can't load a webpage. I'm sure this is a simple matter of getting a setting right I just don't know which one.

okay when do ipconfig what show for gateway am thiink you two router might be conflicted ranges

Can you acessss gateway on your wireless router to start with?
if so go to status page on that does you wireless have lease from other router?
what is model trendnet is ap / router combo? I thought only made them not just stand alone acess points -
Well Vista is showing connected to the network but a big X on the internet in the graphic--just checked. It is saying there is likely an issue with the DNS server so you are no doubt right.
I have to leave to go to work here in a bit but I will check and upload the ipconfig details from both the notebook and my main box tomorrow. Would appreciate your popping back in to have a look at it if you don't mind when I post. -

you might want do you current router then you vonage router behind it might be better way then not doblue nat you own connections
then plug you wireless bridge into your current router -
THE BAD
Flimsy, plastic chassis; clacky mouse buttons; somewhat low screen resolution; keyboard feels a bit cramped because it must make room for separate number pad. -
Andy I haven't had the chance to run the ipconfig and upload those details yet but I wanted to be clear on a couple of things in case it might help.
The Vonage device I am using is a router. It's a Mortorola unit like the vt2442. There are four ethernet ports on the back of it. I have one cable coming out and going to my main box and another cable connecting to the TRENDnet TEW-637AP. The TEW-637AP is a wireless access point only--it is not a router
I can login to the TEW-637AP through my web browser on the hardwired box.
You can connect one wired computer and a wireless access point to the same router can't you? I'd like to keep my main box hardwired and use the AP for my floating laptop. -

I hope that I've copied what you need. Let me know. -
For anyone that is interested--
Entered the main box DNS server numbers in the laptop and connected straightaway.
Don't know why the TRENDnet unit isn't broadcasting the DNS values like it should. I will probably have to re-enter them manually everytime the main box is restarted because I'm sure they dynamically update as well.
