    Hello folks

A young friend of mine, a complete PC user novice, bought an Acer 5735 laptop from Tesco last month. Just lately, the thing has taken to blanking the screen to all white and needs to be returned to normal service by pressing Crtrl+Esc - no big deal but bloody annoying for her:realmad:

Has anyone any suggestions or, better still a resolution to this problem, please??

I am prepared to wipe out Vista Home and load my Vista Ultimate, if that proves the easier solution (though for her, Vista Home does have a few advantages).

I don't have access to the laptop until Wednesday, but I have previously installed Office 2007, Comodo, Avast4. and ThreatFire. I haven't uninstalled any Tesco-installed crap (Yahoo and MS IM, and various other useless junk) yet, so there may well be a conflict between those products and the crap.

I hope I'm not wasting anyone's time by being a trifle premature in submitting this post, but my young friend wants to see some action!!

Any and all suggestions will be most gratefully received (and earn her admiration for her clever friend (yours truly!!!):D )SIZE]
