I have acer 5738G with ati mobility 4570 512mb GDDR3
The problem is
ati 4570 mobility by default has memory speed of 800MHz but ati catalyst on me laptop shows memry speed of 500 mhz only
i tried GPU-Z it also shows defalut clock 800mhz but current 500 mhz and message that current low speed is for low power consumption.
i want to know how can i increase it back to 800 mhz and will there be any heating problems at higher memory clock...
Please help me

Try having GPU-Z monitor in the background (option is under the sensors tab), then run a 3d application. Go back and see if while that 3d application is running if the clocks are what they should be.

I tried that
and maximum of memory clock was 499.5 mhz only.
I can't understand wts the problem -
Try using the last GPU-Z version 0.38, it might fix the problem. Or updating the ATI drivers somehow.
If the low speed profile is on, it should have affected the GPU core clock as well. So what's the speed there?
Are you sure, though, that you have ATI GDDR3? I think some Acer 5738G models come with DDR2 video memory. But if the GPU-Z shows you that kind of info, obviously, something is wrong here.
The last thing I would advise you to do is to update the BIOS. There is a new version 1.19. Check which version you have. Still updating the BIOS is a bit risky task. -

powerplay is causing this issue ,disable it from catalyst control center and memory speed will be 800mhz again
and here is a screenshot from GPU-Z from my acer 5738GAttached Files:

i am using GPU- 0.3.8 only..
and with powerplay i have set it to maximize performance..
still no effect.
and i am using latest driver provided on acer site.
Please help me out here
is updating BIOS is only option or can i overclock it back to 800 mhz
