My acer has a Pentium Dual core T4300, 2.10 GHz. 64 Bit. Running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I have tried to install Windows 8 Beta to Virtual Box and vmware . Both have returned error messages saying that my system does not support 64 bit programs. Can any body explain why? Thanks.

To install a 64-bit guest in a virtual machine, you need a CPU with Intel VT support. AFAIK no Pentium Dual Core supports VT - you need to install a Core 2 Duo.

Thanks for those replies. Virtual Box does work, I have Windows xp and Ubuntu installed so its just the Windows 8 64 bit that throws it. I'll try the 32 bit version.

It is a issue with Windows 8 64-bit.
