Hi Everybody,
I recently bought an Acer 5739g with Windows 7 (64bit). The wireless card is Intel R wifi Link 5100 AGN. I am trying to connect it to the public wireless network in my campus but without any success. It detects the network as 'Other Network' (whereas my Nokia Internet Tablet shows the SSID of the network). When I try to connect to the listed 'Other Network', I am asked the SSID of the network; however, whether I enter 'Other Network' as the SSID or the actual SSID of the network that is available, I get the error message that 'Windows Unable to connect to the network.' In the device manager everything seems to be fine. Would be grateful if anyone could suggest any solution. I have attached the screen-shots of the laptop.

have you tried reinstalling the drivers or rolling back the drivers if they were updated in windows update?

i read there was a problem with some 5739gs where the two wires attaching to the wireless lan card were reversed. might want to look more into that. is the signal strength strong?
