    I have a great deal for a i7 2620M cpu.(120$)

Comparing I7 2620M and i3 380M I see that the sockets are both 988 pin rPGA but the i7 has a "B" after the 988rPGA.

My laptop is a Acer 5742G and my problem is that there aren't any with 2nd gen CPU's. Will the CPU be supported by bios? Are there bios mods available? or they can be made?

    Can't be done. i3 380M works with HM/PM 55 chipset while Sandy Bridge with HM/PM 65 chipset.
You'll have to stick to Arrandale CPUs if you want to upgrade.
