Hello everyone, i have an overheating problem with my Acer 5742g.
I tried changing the thermal compound, it's not that. I've also noticed that the fan won't go to 100% even when the processor goes to 90 degrees celsius.
It only goes to 100% when i do a bios upgrade.
How can i change the fan speed? I really want it to go to 100% because i don't care if it's loud, i just want to be able to play games without lag caused by overheating.
I've tried using AC Fan control, no luck so far.
I even use a cooling pad, but still, the CPU overheats like a b astard...

Check if RW everything can be used to change fan speed.

    Hello,

Had the same problem till today.
    Tried two things
    1. Easy fix for "any laptop/desktop computer" overheating problem in Windows Vista/7/8 - YouTube ..... this way the processor wont use all its power and wont overheat as fast as it did (turned mine on max 90%).
2.Remove the smallest cover on the backside of your laptop and remove the dust (in the cover itself) ,this is the most important thing to do (dont touch something or use liquids inside the laptop).

Hope it worked as well as it did for me.
    (sorry for my english)
