    hello

I purchased an Acer 5749 notebook, main feathers are

    1- Core i3 2350m Sandy-bridge 2nd gen 2.3GHz
    2- Intel HD 3000 Graphics with 128MB Built-in Graphics
3- 500 GB Hard Drive SATA II.
    4- 4 GB DDR3 1333Mhz PC3-10600 RAM dual Channel
(2x 2GB Modules same manufacture, same speed and same manufacturing date)

5- Cpu-z says my mainboard is HMA51_HR and Southbridge is HM65.

    Concern 1:
here is my greatest concern I am 100% sure that my RAM is DDR3 1333Mhz, but in BIOS, in CPU-Z, in SISoft SANDRA and in AIDA64 reports its running at 1067Mhz.
Why is that? I mean HM65 and new i3 2350m support 1333Mhz why its running at low speed?

    Concern 2:
CPU-Z shows Processor name as "Intel Core i3/i5/i7" and shows a generic Intel inside logo instead of Core TM i3 logo?

I am also posting my CPU-Z Screen Shots. Pls help me out in this regard and shed light on these mysterious problem.

Thanks and God Bless you all.

I finally found Repair Manual for 5749 where it is shown that memory interface is at 1066Mhz.

But my question is still same? As sandy bridge support 1333Mhz is there any sighting where memory is running at 1333Mhz. Maybe my ram is not compatible.

Um, I would not go out and buy different RAM until I was sure Your MOBO/Bios could support 1333. CPU-Z reports your RAM as being 1333, so no need to buy faster if your 'puter won't recognize it. Honestly you won't notice that much of a difference anyway.

Yes, a modded BIOS could open up the 1333 speed, but the usual caveats of running an unauthorized BIOS that some user altered (thus breaking the EULA) apply.

I wouldn't worry about it. We all like to milk our systems for every once we can, but the speed difference between 1066 and 1333 will mostly be seen in benchmarks, and rarely felt. More RAM (i.e. 8GB) and/or SSD will make more impact on your computing experience, and not void your warranty or brick your computer.

ed: Not having the "Core i" logo show up in cpu-z is a strange quirk, though.
